The American Auto Industry

*A small cadre of friends had a spirited discussion about American vs Foreign cars. This is my response to an email about the poor state of the American car industry.*

The American auto industry finds itself in [their current] pickle because piss poor leadership (Labor as well as Maker) made piss poor decisions via piss poor management that brought about many piss poor products with a piss poor attitude that was conducive to piss poor customer service which proves that Marine Corps proverb piss poor planning leads to piss poor performance.

Considering that Union Leadership and American Auto Manufacturer Management could not bring about the combined brain power to figure out how to pour piss out of a boot with the instruction wrote on the heel, they piss into the wind and blame the Japanese, Chinese, Koreans, consumers, the American government, NAFTA, CAFTA, WTO, NTSB, CAFÉ, and each other for pissing in their beds when they became drunk on their post-WWII success and lost bladder control after they passed-out sometime around 1971.

Now they vacillate between a drunken stupor and wicked hangover with complete loss of bodily functions. They're drunk, abusive, and smell of piss, crap, and vomit; then have the gall to wonder why their wife (the American consumer) left them for another man.

A summit is not needed, but a 12-step program that requires the Unions and the Auto Makers to take a good look in the mirror and take responsibility for their own piss poor predicament.

Why Did I Vote Republican?

The nomination of Ms. Miers is one hellvua disappointment to me. While the President has courage on foreign policy, he utterly lacks any courage in domestic policy. The Main Stream Media (MSM) will vilify anyone that does not toe the Democratic-Liberal-Socialist line.

The "Can't-We-Just-All-Get-Along" tactic that the President and the some of the Republican leadership in Congress have tried will NEVER work. We must meet our political enemies on the battlefield of ideas and slaughter them. A Janice Rodgers Brown nomination would have brought the fight to the front and showed the nation (particualrly the squishy moderates) the Democrats do not want an honest debate on abortion, gay-rights, property rights, etc. The Dems merely want to dictate by judical decree their policies and become entrenched in power to enrich themselves at the expense of the poor (by enslaving them to the welfare state) and the middle class to moderately rich (by taxing away what they have earn through hard work).

"Trust Me" don't cut it with judical nominees. It's only after President Bush is long gone from the Oval Office will we find out if what was behind Door #2 was the grand prize or a zonk.

Why should I give money and time, let alone go to the polls, for the Repubs if they are always snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
