EGO = Escort God Out

The Evangelical Climate Initiative (ECI) has come out with a report that says as Christians we need to reduce carbon dioxide emmissions to prevent global warming. If one goes to the Nation Review Online and reads the Iain Murray article (2/9/2006), one can read on the following of false teachings and see the holes in the 'evidence' that the ECI uses. I wish to deal with the self-righteous egotism that my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ have displayed.

If the ECI were to have attacked the problem of energy use and helping the environment from a stewardship point of view only, I would have totally agreed with that assessment and would endorsed their cause 100%. But, the folks at the ECI have bought into their arguement the doctrine of those who worship the false goddess of Mother Gaia that we, the created, can destroy the creation of the Creator. We can no more destroy this world than we can to create another planet from scratch.

It is amazing how this planet, even in its fallen, cursed, corrupt condition, can repair and/or overcome the damages caused by natural and man-made disasters. It is an awesome display of God's grace, mercy, and love. It shows the commitment God has for the jewel of His creation, Humanity. The arrogance as shown by the enviro-nazis is typical of people without the knowledge of the grace of God. It grieves me (and God) to see those who profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior pick up the same pride as the God-less.

Now, do we have the right to do with the planet as we like? No. While we are to subdue the creation (Genesis 1:28), we are to be a good steward of that which we are given. We should take measures in curbing our energy use and use all resources wisely. It should not be out of fear we will destroy the earth for future generations, but out of gratitude and love to God for providing so well for us. We should also have faith that God will provide for the next generations. The fearmongering that the enviro-nazis engage with the public is based on their self-righteous convictions that they know better than anyone else. For any Christian group or individual to engage in the same tactics is the pinnicale of ego. It leads to hypocrisy, which alienates lost souls from searching for God.

We have questioned the validity of evolution for decades. The same people that have worshipped at the altar of Dawrinism have told us the world is doomed to be flooded by the melting ice caps unless we change our ways. If we believe that God created all we see, smell, hear, touch, and taste in a week, then why are some Christians balking at God's promise not to destroy the world by water? Oh, ye of little faith!
