If Hatred Is a Sin...

...Why Do Liberals Hate So Much?

For all of Jerry Falwell's faults he was a good and decent man. While he did things that made Christians look self righteous instead of righteous by the blood of Christ he did stand for the Gospel and had the hope that his words would bring people to repent and into the family of God through His only Son, Jesus.

The venom from Falwell's political enemies is astoundingly hypocritical. Falwell's enemies crucified him for his 'hatred' and intolerance while they preached that the world needed to be as love-filled and tolerant as they are. Jesus, when he walked the earth, drew the least, last, and lost to Him because of His perfect love. His 'tolerance' and love allowed him to love them as they were and that same love transformed those sinners into saints that God redeemed.

That was Jerry's flaw. He, in his fallen condition, through the Holy Spirit, tried to transform people from sinners to saints. Unfortunately, he allow his spirit and not the Holy Spirit to control his words and tone. It's a flaw that all Christian have to greater or lesser extent.

Now that he has passed on to his heavenly home, those that despised Jerry try to tear down a man that stood on the principle of the Gospel - in all of its grace and justice. But, Jesus said that the world would hate us, because the world hated Him first. It's what happens when people are trying to make their heaven here on earth. Beware, God in His grace will give you heaven on earth, and in His justice He will give you hell for eternity.

Reclaiming Partriotism

John "I need a $400 haircut to cover my bald spot" Edwards wants reclaim patriotism by protesting against the war in Iraq at Memorial Day celebrations. The "peace is patriotic" crowd adheres to the John Lennon school of Foreign Policy. Our Democrat countrymen believe they are patriotic. Well, let's look at their actions.
  • Capitulation and appeasement to one's enemies is unpatriotic.
  • Cutting off funding and resources to our military as they fight a war is unpatriotic.
  • Suggesting that our country has lost a war is unpatriotic.
  • Suggesting that our country is losing a war with no hope of winning is unpatriotic.
  • Subverting our president's foreign policies by talking to our enemies is unpatriotic.
  • Peace at any non-violent cost is unpatriotic.
  • Hoping your country looses a war or goes into economic chaos to gain political power is unpatriotic.
  • Using national holidays that should bind us together as a people for political gain is unpatriotic.

The current crop of Democrats running for president and their supports are socialist and anti-American, viewing America only through her faults and never through her goodness and strengths. While we should always acknowledge our shortcomings and failures, we should never dwell on them. That would only drain our confidence and embitter us toward each other and the world.
